Erie Center on Health & Aging Senior Community Center

Our Mission and Our Board of Directors

The Erie Center on Health & Aging is governed by a 13-member volunteer Board of Directors, representing all sectors of our community, as an independent, non-profit organization. The original Erie Senior Citizens Center was founded by Mayor Louis J. Tullio and community advocates for Erie's older adults in 1972, as a City of Erie service. The Senior Citizens Health Care Council of Erie County also was founded by community professionals and advocated, with support from Mayor Tullio, in 1974. From the beginning, both organizations had a strong commitment to our elders. The current organization was formed in 1996 from the merged services, and from the partnership of over 20 years, and reflects this shared commitment to seniors in our long-standing mission statement.

Our Mission

"The Mission of Erie Center on Health and Aging is to improve health and quality of life for adults as they age through coordinated community initiatives in the region."
